Hi Mitchell!
Welcome to planDisney, where we love helping Guests with their cruise planning. But we also understand there are times when we have to assist with vacation un-planning. So count us in your corner as you navigate the cancellation waters.
You can cancel a Disney cruise, but there are some rules that you might need to be aware of. First, make sure you do not have a nonrefundable reservation (referred to as one that is “with restrictions”). Second, when is your voyage scheduled? If it is before May 31, 2022, the
cancellation dates are more relaxed. Under the new policy, Guests booked in non-Suite and non-Concierge categories can cancel up to 59 days prior to sailing without triggering cancellation fees. If your cruise is beyond May 31, 2022, then the
normal cancellation rules will apply.
Another scenario is that Guests might need to cancel because either they or a member of their travel party have one of the following:
-symptoms of COVID-19;
-a temperature of 100.4°F or greater;
-known exposure to a person with COVID-19 within the previous 14 days; or
-tested positive for COVID-19.
If so and it is within 14 days prior to embarkation, Guests can receive a refund without Disney-imposed cancellation fees or apply their cruise fare toward a future sail date. Review the
Flexible Refund Policy if this applies to your situation as there are certain conditions that apply.
Cancellations can only be made by
calling Disney Cruise Line (or your travel agent if they secured the booking for you).
I hope that if you do have to cancel your cruise, then perhaps you will be able to sail with Captain Mickey in the not-too-distant future. Wishing you the best of luck!
Sherry
