Bright Suns, Brianna and thank you for bringing such a stellar question our way!
It sounds like you’re preparing to join an epic battle with the First Order on the
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and I'm happy to help! As may you already know, you’ll have two opportunities to join the
Virtual Queue, 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. When the time comes to join a Boarding Group, any mobile device that has all tickets linked may attempt to join the virtual queue. However, Guests may only be included in one Boarding Group for each attraction per day. So when one person in your party successfully joins a Boarding Group on their device, the linked party members will no longer be eligible for additional Boarding Groups.
That being said, your friend is able to cancel her Boarding Pass. To do this, visit the “Virtual Queues” section of the
Disneyland Mobile App. Near the bottom of the screen, you’ll see an option to “Remove Guests” from your Boarding Group Party. Select the members of your party you wish to remove and your position in the virtual queue will be vacated. Confirm by checking the "Virtual Queues" section of the App. You should see a message at the top of the screen that reads “It looks like you haven’t joined an available virtual queue yet.” But, doing this will not make her eligible for the noon virtual queue for the same attraction.
If your friend is unable to make it in the allotted timeframe once your group is called, I suggest taking a screenshot of the boarding group barcode. When your friend arrives, she may show the barcode to the Cast Member at the entrance of the attraction. They may be able to accommodate her late arrival.
Best of luck and please come back to planDisney!
