Canadians arriving Nov.26 to Dec. 5th. The 26th we don't arrive in Orlando until around supper time, Should we just check in the hotel and go to Down Town Disney?? Don't want to waste a hopper pass, or any other suggestions? Thanks

    Hi Cindy,

You are arriving at a wonderful time of year.  The parks will be decorated in a sea of lights, garland and Disney holiday magic!  I think you have a great idea to save your first "park hopper day" for your first full vacation day.  Downtown Disney is a fabulous venue to celebrate the beginning of your trip without using up a park day.  It is filled with shops and fantastic dining establishments, which will also be decorated for the holidays.  Some of my favorite Downtown Disney restaurants include Fulton's Crab House for amazing, super fresh seafood, Portobello for Italian specialities and amazing desserts and Raglan Road, which is a traditional Irish Pub with great food!  After dinner, I'd hop over to the World of Disney and some other specialty shops for some shopping.

Another option for your first night that does not require a park ticket is Disney's BoardWalk.  This area is located between Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and also has a great variety of restaurants, as well as free nightly entertainment and shopping.  Flying Fish Cafe and Yachtsman Steakhouse are two of my favorites on the BoardWalk.

Whichever spot you chose for your first night, have a magical trip!
