Hi moms! Going to Canada fall 2019. I saw a tip where you could drop off a souvenir to be signed by characters. Others now saying they discontinued this? Hope to have one done. Any other fun tips would also be appreciated! Love your advice!

    Ahoy Robert!

Thank you for using the Disney Parks Moms Panel as a planning resource for your Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Cruise Line vacations. I'm so happy our tips and advice have been helpful!

In years past, Guests were able to drop off personal items at the Guest Services Desk to be autographed by a selection of Disney Characters. Unfortunately, they recently discontinued this service. Guests may still bring items such as pillowcases, hats, photo mats, etc., but are asked to bring their items with them to Character Meet and Greets to have them signed.

To help Guests gather autographs of their favorite Disney friends, Disney Cruise Line has begun offering additional Character Greetings throughout each sailing. Guests will have multiple opportunities to meet their favorite characters in person for autographs and photo ops. There are also special ticketed Meet and Greet moments such as the Princess Gathering and Anna and Elsa. The ticketed events have limited space, and Guests will need tickets to reserve a place for their sailing party. You can get tickets online when your reservation window opens to book Onboard Activities, and a small amount of tickets will be available on the first afternoon onboard.

My favorite night to get photos with the Disney Characters is Pirate Night. The characters are dressed up in pirate gear, and there are special photo ops throughout the night. On our last cruise, Captain Hook was greeting guests on the second floor balcony of the lobby, when Peter Pan snuck up behind him. It resulted in a hilarious scene on the lobby atrium stairs, right behind Captain Mickey, who was posing for photos at the bottom of the staircase. Guests got quite a show - it was so funny! I love the character interactions on the ships - you never know who you might run into. There's never a dull moment on a Disney Cruise!

Please let us know if you have more questions before your sailing. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
