Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Mindi! I'm happy to help you with your question.
To start, I absolutely love
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness. While it has been quite a few years, our family has both taken our camper and tent camped at Fort Wilderness. Some of our favorite Disney vacation memories have been made there! If you are staying at one of the hundreds of campsites, you will need to bring your own towels. I could not find anywhere in the resort policy that says clotheslines are not permitted. In fact, I know a few people who stay at Fort Wilderness regularly and always pack a clothesline. That being said, these types of things are always at the discretion of the Cast Members.
While I don't expect you to have an issue hanging your towels at your site to dry, another option is to use the
laundry facilities. There are self-service laundry rooms located at each of the several Comfort Stations throughout the resort property.
I'd love to share some of my favorite things to do while staying at Fort Wilderness:
- The Meadow Swimmin' Pool is lots of fun for big kids (that includes adults!) because of the corkscrew waterslide, but there's also a great area for little ones.
- The Wilderness Swimmin' Pool has actually become my family's favorite pool at this resort. It's a little calmer and is a nice, relaxing break from the excitement of the theme parks.
- Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is one of the most popular dinner experiences at Walt Disney World, and there's a reason for that. The entertainment is a lot of fun! And who knows? You might just become part of it! You'd better arrive hungry, because it includes all-you-care-to-enjoy fried chicken, BBQ pork ribs, and sides. I hear the strawberry shortcake is good, but I've never had room for dessert!
- The Electrical Water Pageant is a Walt Disney World tradition that's been around for decades. It's simple and feels nostalgic and patriotic. I think it's fun to grab a Mickey Ice Cream bar at Settlement Trading Post and walk down to the beach after dark to catch this light parade.
- Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long is always a hit. It's a unique experience where you can have some fun with our favorite chipmunks while roasting marshmallows. Afterwards, stick around to take in a movie under the stars.
I haven't even touched on half of the amenities offered at Fort Wilderness, Mindi! It's going to be a magical vacation for sure! Please
let us know if you have any more questions. We're always happy to help!
Always Dreaming -
Elizabeth
