camp-full hookup-furthest from pool etc. NO cart-bringing bikes-how far of ride pool/ laundry/ferry? Guess-no parking-bikes to catch closet bus-like at marina area. Bring bike trailer for pools items & back packs to free our hands.no camp option

Howdy Denise and thanks for bringing your questions to us here at planDisney!

I absolutely love spending quality vacation time with my family at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort where we've been lucky enough to have enjoyed several magical stays in the delightfully rustic Cabins.  The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are of course close neighbours to the RV and camping plots, and they all share the same wonderful recreational opportunities and useful amenities of The Fort.

It sure sounds like you've already put a lot of thought into your Summer vacation at Walt Disney World Resort!  Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is a huge naturally beautiful area covering some 750 acres of wooded land, so for easy personal transportation, I think it's such a super idea to be bringing your own bikes and bike trailer from home.

You'll find yourself in great company when cycling around The Fort as many Guests either bring their own bikes, or opt for Bike Rentals, or even Golf Cart Rentals!  With so much cycling going on you'll find lots of conveniently placed bicycle stands where your bikes can be secured whilst you dine, swim, shop, or even head over on a ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom Park.  And, if you had a golf cart, there's parking provided for them too!

It's hard to give precise timings, or distances of how long, or how far it would be from your exact campsite to the Meadow Swimmin' Pool (closest of the 2 pools to the campsites), or to the Settlement Trading Post near the Marina, but I would allow at least 20 minutes of travelling time.  However, I am happy to share that you're sure not to be far from a Comfort Station complete with self-serve Laundry Services.

And lastly Denise, I must tell you about the delicious Dinner Menu items available at P & J's Southern Takeout.  This hidden wilderness gem serves the most amazing full-slab of barbecued ribs with 8-pieces of fried chicken, and the best cornbread you'll ever eat, plus a choice of 4 tempting sides - you can thank me later!

I hope I've been able to provide a little insight into your August camping trip, but if you did have any further enquiries, please do pop back to planDisney to ask us another question.

Have a great Disney day ~ Jane
