We are going to be going to the Campfire Sing Along on 3/18. We were going to come early to do pony rides and petting zoo. Is there anywhere we can do a QS meal or use snack credits to get more substantial food items for dinner in the area?

    Ashley:

Although Crockett's Tavern is nearby at Pioneer Hall and has a take-out window, it is not on the Disney Dining Plan for a Quick-Service Meal or snack credit.  You would need to venture over nearer to where the campfire will be held to find the Meadows Snack Bar by the pool.  It's open seasonally, but March 18 should be warm enough for the pool (and therefore the snack bar) to be bustling.  But be aware that the Dining Plan says it's only open for lunch.  When we were there in November, the snack bar was open well after 3 p.m. but I don't know if it would be open closer to 7 p.m. when the sing-a-long starts.  There is a canteen at the sing-a-long but it is not listed on the dining plan, however, neither is The Meadows Trading Post, but we have used our snack credits in the Trading Post for everything from a slushee to a bag of cookies! So it might not hurt to ask if you want to gamble.

I'm NOT a gambler, so if you want something substantial, I suggest going to The Contemporary's Contempo Cafe or Wilderness Lodge's Roaring Fork for a quick service meal before taking the boat launch from those resorts on over to Fort Wilderness (it's a 10-minute ride from Wilderness Lodge and a 20-minute ride from The Contemporary).  An option would be to get a salad to go from The Contempo or a sandwich from Roaring Fork and just brown bag to the fort. You'll find plenty of tables near the pier.

Just make sure you're at the fort in plenty of time for the pony rides which end much earlier than the Sing-a-long begins.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
