Hi Camille I have a trip to Disneyland planned in May. One of the parties is unable to attend. Can I transfer that ticket to another person for that trip? The tickets were purchased through Get A Way today. Please let me know what options I have.

Greetings Edward, so glad you found me here at planDisney!

Ahhh! You're arriving at the Disneyland Resort in less than a month! I'm so sorry to hear that a member of your magical party is unable to attend this trip, hopefully, this isn't a case of Finding Nemo! However, it sounds like you have another person ready to experience the magic and I'm very happy to share how to make that happen.

Once you have your ticket barcodes, you can link wholly unused tickets directly to each guest's MyDisney account. I'm not sure if the ticket in question has already been linked to a MyDisney account or if you're hoping to just link a ticket that was intended for the party that can't make it, I'll share both ways.

    1. Initial Ticket Link to a Guest (do this for each guest):

    • Using the barcodes provided from the tickets you purchased from Get Away Today, you can scan those to assign to each guest individually.
    • On the website, log in to each MyDisney account; hover over "My Disneyland" then click "Link Tickets." You'll be prompted to enter the Ticket ID, find that on the PDF sent to you, and then you'll be linked. If you received paper tickets, link the barcode number on the back.
    • On the Disneyland app, each guest should be logged in on their mobile device; Tap the three bars on the bottom navigation; Tap "Link Tickets and Passes;" Tap the "+" sign; Tap "Link Tickets and Passes;" If you're in person with the guest, they can use the camera to scan their ticket barcode to link; If you're not together share the barcode with them and they can "Type ID" to manually enter the barcode you provide.

    2. Link a ticket from Guest 1 to Guest 2 (assuming you've already linked the ticket to the party member who cannot make it):

    • If the ticket has already been assigned to Guest 1's MyDisney account and is wholly unused, you can transfer the ticket to the other person so it's Guest 2's name and MyDisney account.
    • Contact Ticket Services as they will need to do the transfer to move the ticket.
    • Whoever has ownership of the ticket in their MyDisney account will need to call in and have Guest 2's MyDisney account email, name, and phone number to complete the transaction.
    • You can still link each other's tickets in the app or website (follow scenario 1) so you're able to manage Disney Genie+, Lightning Lane, and Disability Access Service as a group, but you cannot delete the ticket if it's linked in your MyDisney account.

While you're in town, you'll have an opportunity to experience Star Wars Season of the Force (now through June 2) and Pixar Fest (now through August 4). Both celebrations bring specialty treats, beverages, limited-time merchandise, and some exciting day and night entertainment! I'm looking forward to the new "Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration" parade at Disney California Adventure Park! I hope this helps, Edward! If you have more questions, reach out directly again!

Wishing you a fantastic trip; Magic awaits!
