Hiya Ryan,
Welcome back to planDisney! We are always honored when Guests come back to visit us for help with planning their Walt Disney World Resort vacations. It is so special to be a part of your world!
First off, great question! I am always amazed by some of the incredible photography done by Guests at the theme parks, and I know that it wouldn’t be possible without good equipment such as gimbal stabilizers. Now, I’ve seen stabilizers in the parks before, but I’m not sure if they were Dji rs3 Mini’s or not. I took a peek at the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, and nothing specifically prohibits gimbal stabilizers. The rules do say that tripods or monopod stands must be able to fit inside a standard backpack and not extend over 6’. As long as your camera gimbal adheres to these guidelines, then you should be permitted to bring it in. As a reminder, Cast Members do have final discretion and reserve the right to prohibit anything they deem to be disruptive, so keep that in mind.
I hope this was helpful, Ryan. Before I let you go, I’m sure you know this already, but I find that the best time to get great pictures is during
early theme park entry or
extended evening hours. The crowds tend to be smaller, and you can get a near-empty photo of some of your favorite landmarks. Guests of Walt Disney World Resort Hotels are the only ones able to take advantage of these special times, so I highly recommend staying on-site. If you are looking for great deals, don’t forget to check out the
special offers page; it is a great way to save money. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
