Hi, Zephra!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for your great question. I’m so happy to hear you are celebrating your daughter’s third birthday at the Disneyland Resort! While Disneyland Park will remain open during a storm, some of the outdoor attractions, like Mad Tea Party and Dumbo the Flying Elephant may stop operating temporarily until heavy rainfall subsides for safety reasons. The good news is that the parks will generally be less crowded since local visitors aren’t as likely to visit on a rainy day.
There are many indoor activities to enjoy at Disneyland Park if the weather makes outdoor exploration difficult. You could visit Minnie’s House in Mickey’s Toontown, browse the many Disneyland Park shops, watch the candy makers create treats at Candy Palace, or explore the interactive exhibits, games and high-tech gadgets at Innoventions in Tomorrowland.
If you’re feeling adventurous, just throw on some comfortable watertight shoes and pick up a rain poncho to take advantage of the shorter lines at some attractions! If you plan to bring a stroller, an extra poncho can double as a rain cover. I hope this helps, Zephra, and that you have a wonderful visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. Don’t forget to stop by City Hall to pick up a free birthday button to help celebrate your daughter’s special day!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
