I called WDW Dining and asked if we can add the dining package to our resort stay only bc we are purchasing our tickets seperately and the cast member told us that we are able to do that. Now on responses it is said that we can't w/o a ticket.

Hi, Rachel,  The cast member you spoke with is correct.  If you purchased your park tickets separately, you cannot add the dining package to a "room only" reservation.

The only way around this would be to add at least a one day Magic My Way base ticket to your room.  The dining packages are based on the number of nights of your stay, not the number of days on your park tickets.  But without adding at least the one day ticket to your room reservation, you cannot add the dining plan.

I know it sounds confusing, but with "room only" reservations, the dining plan cannot be added.  Hope this helps!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
