Howdy Julie and welcome to planDisney!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite of all the Walt Disney World Resorts! My family has been camping there since I was just a toddler and I love taking my own kids to have some of the same experiences. It's so peaceful being surrounded by nature, but also exciting knowing you're still so close to the magic. Whether we are in a cabin or in a tent under the stars, we always have such an amazing time at Fort Wilderness.
I can't wait to bring my dogs, Lilo and Stitch, with us the next time we are staying in a cabin. I know they would just love it there as much as I do. There is lots of varying information out there, but I spoke with a Cast Member directly at Fort Wilderness and the official pet rule is that up to 2 dogs are allowed to be with you while staying as a Resort Guest at the campground, in an RV or in a cabin, and are subject to an additional fee. You must request a pet-friendly loop ahead of time to make sure your campsite is in the right section of the campground. I also wanted to note that pets are not allowed in pop-up campers or tents.
Since you have more than two dogs, I highly suggest looking into
Best Friends Pet Care during your stay. I have never used their services, but I know plenty of friends and fellow planDisney Panelists who have and rave about how well taken care of their fur babies were. It's less than 5 minutes from Fort Wilderness, so you can visit your pups as often as you would like during their open hours. Even though all of your dogs can't be with you during your Walt Disney World vacation, you can rest easy knowing they are just around the corner.
Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
