How do I call cabin to cabin on a Disney cruise ship?

Why ahoy there Robert, and welcome aboard planDisney!

From my years of experience living on ships, it can really feel like a small town sometimes and you might not see certain people all day when you're on board (which may or may not be something you want during your Disney Cruise Line vacation). That said, it's definitely important to stay connected and check in with anyone else that you're traveling with now and again and I'm happy to provide you with the nautical knowledge on how to do so while you're on board:

    • At the current time, calling another stateroom from one of the other phones on board can be as simple as picking up the handset to Dial 7 + the Room Number. (This may be subject to change with updates to phone lines and systems across newer ships and future dry docks, but the instructions are often found printed on the phone itself alongside the numbers for Fire, Security and for Medical attention.)
    • I've observed that many seafaring folks and families make good use of message boards affixed to their stateroom doors to let each other know what they're up to or where to find them. I personally like the convenience of the Onboard Chat function of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, and highly recommend having everyone take some time getting acquainted with it and sending practice messages to each other on Embarkation Day so that you're set for the rest of the voyage.
It's important to be aware of your options to help you stay connected the Internet and Phone services available during your sailing, but I've also found joy in being blissfully free and disconnected while out on the open ocean - especially when heading off to more far-flung destinations. Come back again to planDisney for any other answers or advice ahead of your next ocean adventure!
