I am in California. What time can I go on line to make my dining reservations on the day I am eligible to do so?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Patricia!

You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!  Thanks so much for dropping by with a question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit.  Eeek!  It looks like you're almost ready for my favorite part of the entire Disney vacation-planning process –– making your advance dining reservations!  Not only can you start dreaming of all the deliciousness you'll get to enjoy during your stay, but once that dining window officially opens, the final countdown to your vacation is on!  Since it looks like you're only a few days away from booking those tables, let me share a few details about the reservation process to help you get ready.

Advance dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance –– if you'll be arriving on January 16th, this means that you can begin booking on November 17th.  And as an added bonus, if you'll be staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel or other select locations during your visit, you'll be able to make dining reservations for your entire length of stay (up to 10 days) at that 60-day mark.  Now here's the kicker (at least for you west coasters) –– on the morning your booking window opens, you'll be able to being making reservations at 6 AM EST, which means that in California, you can begin logging in not-so-bright and early at 3 AM PST.  Believe me, you'll definitely want to set an alarm for this one!

While the time for making reservations officially begins at 6 AM EST, you can sometimes begin making reservations as early as 5:45 AM EST (I'm not sure why this is available at certain times not at others –– isn't technology funny sometimes?).  However, I can tell you that my own 60-day dining window opened last week and I made reservations on two different mornings, and both times the website wouldn't let me log on and begin making reservations until the clock struck 6 AM.  So while you're welcome to give it a try at 2:45 AM (geez, that's early!), my sense is that you'll probably be okay to hit the snooze button and wait until 3:00 AM PST.

Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, Patricia.  I hope your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit is filled with delicious dishes from beginning to end!

    See Ya Real Soon,
    Amy
