Hi there, Sonia. Welcome to planDisney! From one Californian to another, I’m excited for your trip to
The Happiest Place on Earth.
If the
California Resident 3-day Park Hopper has not been used, you should be okay to let another Californian use it. I’d suggest having the person who will use the 3-day ticket link it to their account using the
Disneyland Mobile App. It shouldn’t matter if the name on the reservation matches, but the cast member will very carefully check the ID of the person using the ticket, and will take a picture that will be linked to the ticket from that point on.
Let me be really clear, once someone uses the ticket, they must be the person using the second and third days as well. You will not be able to transfer the ticket after it has been used.
Another important point, Disney is only accepting government-issued photo ID that proves residence in the state of California. Cast members have been very strict about the type of ID that needs to be shown, especially on the first visit.
To link your ticket in your app, click the (☰) on the first screen, then “My Tickets and Passes.” Press the (+) in the upper right corner, and then “Link Tickets and Passes.” Just enter the ticket number or use your camera to scan the barcode. Voilà!
I really hope the ticket is being transferred to you, and not from you. I’m also excited to see you’ll be visiting while the
Disney Lunar New Year Celebration is still taking place. There are a lot of fun decorations, special characters dressed up in traditional Asian attire, and delicious food to try.
Disney Parks Blog has you covered with their
Lunar New Year Foodie Guide. The Spicy Pork Belly Grilled Cheese from Pym Test Kitchen is absolutely amazing!
Sonia, I hope the transferring of tickets works out for you, and you have a magical visit to the Disneyland Resort. Come on back to
planDisney if you have any other planning questions. Have a magical day!
Corey
