We are in California in November for medical treatment. My son has Down Syndrome and will be only able to do a few hours at the park. Is there an admission plan that would work for us?

    Hello Kerry,

Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you stopped by with this question today and I'd be happy to help!

I'm thrilled that your family is planning to visit Disneyland Resort next month and I already know that you'll have a wonderful time together, even if your visit can only last a few hours. There is so much to enjoy that you could likely spend a week and still not get to experience all the attractions, dining, and entertainment offerings available. But in my opinion, even a short visit can be just as magical!

Unfortunately, there aren't any half-day ticket options available at this time. Sometimes special offers and discounts do pop up like the recently announced Kid's Special Ticket Offer for visits between January 8 and March 10, 2024. I realize this doesn't offer much help for a November visit, but I'd take a look at the current special offers to see if anything else would work for your travel dates. The Holidays at the Disneyland Resort are a popular time to visit and 1-day ticket prices will usually reflect that. I do think the investment is worth the magic, especially if this trip is an opportunity you don't experience often.

If your son has difficulty waiting in a traditional queue you might want to look into the Disability Access Service (DAS) for your visit. You can pre-register to speak with a Cast Member virtually and see if he qualifies. If so, this would help alleviate some of the time spent waiting in line at your favorite attractions. Your family will be assigned a return time and have the ability to visit other areas of the park at your leisure while you wait.

I can understand that you want to maximize your time while your son is feeling his best but your tickets would allow you to exit and re-enter the parks during operating hours if your family needs a break. This is especially easy if you're staying at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels since they are all a short walk or a Monorail ride away from the park entrance. There are some Good Neighbor Hotels within walking distance as well.

Kerry, I'm sorry I don't have better news to share with you today but please know we're here to help answer any additional questions. You are also welcome to speak with a Cast Member by phone to inquire about offers and accommodations.

    Magic and memories,
    Amy
