Thank you for returning to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Joan! You’ll be glad to hEAR that festive attire is always welcomed at Disney Resorts and most restaurants, but you may want to know about the guidelines for Signature Restaurants such as California Grill.
According to the
California Grill site page, “Guests are asked to adhere to the minimum dress code requirements at this Signature Dining experience. Dressier attire is also welcome. Men must wear khakis, slacks or dress shorts and collared shirts. Sport coats are optional Women must wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses or dress shorts. Not permitted are tank tops, flip-flops, swimsuits, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing etc. Jeans may be worn if in good condition.” I’m also excited to hear about your granddaughter’s magical transformation at
The Pirate’s League (there is no maximum age limit!) but remember that costumes for ages 14 and up are not allowed inside Disney Theme Parks. Options for adults include pirate hats or bandanas, pirate-shirts and Disney shirts (these are all available for purchase). Full costumes are not allowed in the park and are not available for purchase. Your granddaughter will, however, be able to Disneybound in a pirate look; think a blousy shirt and flowy skirt, coupled with a leather belt or coin-decorated necklace. This outfit would fall within the California Grill standards, too! I don’t think her makeup will be an issue, especially if she opts for the Empress or Mermaid looks.
If I can shed some more light on her costume options or perhaps offer some additional yummy bites for your upcoming vacation, please let me know. YO, HO, YO, HO, a pirate’s life for me! ~ Lindsey P.
