    We were at California Adventure yesterday and bought a spider bot. It was working for a couple of hours and now the shell will not pop off when you engage the self destruct button. You hear the motor making a noise but nothing happens.

    It sounds like you recently embarked on a mission at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park, and you found yourself in a bit of a sticky situation with your Spider-Bot! Let’s see if we can help you escape this web of confusion, Christal! 

    My son actually had a similar issue when he bought his Spider-Bot last year, although for him, the shell wouldn’t pop back into place after battle. We discovered that we hadn’t checked to make sure the Spider-Bot was no longer in self-destruct mode. Once we took it out of that mode, he was able to snap the shell back into place. I wish I had a simple solution for you too, Christal! I recommend calling Merchandise Guest Services at (877) 560-6477 for help. They may ask you to send an email to merchandise.guest.services@disneyparks.com to demonstrate the issue you’re having. If that’s the case, you’ll need to also include an image showing your proof of purchase, as well as a brief description of the issue you’re having, or even a video if you’re able to capture the noise you're hearing. This will help narrow down the issue so the Cast Member can help you find the right solution!
