I am going to be at California Adventure with my family in Feb for 1 day....just checking if you offer fast pass system in Cali for non hotel guests. I am familiar with Orlando, but am curious how the California parks work

Hiya, Ryan! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your Lightning Lane question. I love that you'll be visiting the Happiest Place on Earth with some Disney World knowledge thrown in. I think you'll have a great time!

The Disneyland theme parks have three options for Lightning Lanes. The first option is the Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP). This pass can be purchased ahead of time with theme park tickets or added on the day of your visit after scanning your entry ticket, and allows you to book return times for eligible attractions in each park throughout the day. Unlike Orlando, where hotel guests can make advanced Lighting Lane reservations days before their visit, at the Disneyland Resort, all guests must first enter one of the theme parks before booking their LLMP return times for the day. For this reason, I highly recommend getting to the parks as early as possible, so earlier return times may be available! As a bonus, when you purchase the LLMP, you also get access to free Disney PhotoPass photo downloads for that day of your visit. How cool is that?

Ryan, the second type of Lightning Lane is the Lightning Lane Single Pass (LLSP), which is good for access to shorter wait times for the Resort's most popular attractions. Currently, there is one ride in each park that offers LLSP.  The rides are Radiator Springs Racers at Disney California Adventure Park and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland Park. Like the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you will need to have scanned into one of the theme parks in order to purchase this add-on service.

The last type of Lightning Lane is the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This pass is available in limited quantities and allows the guest one-time entry without needing to book a return time to each available Lightning Lane experience (including LLSP rides) in both of the Disneyland Resort theme parks. No need to remember to book the next Lightning Lane, this pass will allow you to experience any of the Lightning Lane-eligible rides at your pace! This pass is great for first-time visitors or those with limited time! Book this experience in the Disneyland Mobile App and maximize your day.

Please note that all Lighting Lane types are subject to availability, and return times for each LLMP and LLSP attraction are not guaranteed. With each Lighting Lane pass type, you can experience an attraction once. If you would like to ride an attraction more than once, you will need to use the standby queue to do so. If you have questions while you are inside the theme parks, head to a Guest Relations location for assistance!

I hope this information helps, Ryan! Your visit will be here faster than fast, quicker than quick, Ryan, so if you have any other questions, please visit us again!

    See ya real soon,
    Melissa
