Hey there, Karen, and welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you're dreaming of a magical visit to the Disneyland Resort, and I'm so excited to help you plan an unforgettable adventure for your daughter!
You've asked a really great question about expected attendance, and it's one we hear quite often! While perfectly predicting park attendance would be a wish come true, crowd levels can be a bit like trying to catch Tinker Bell's flight path—hard to pin down! That said, the Disneyland Resort does offer some
helpful insights on the best times to visit.
While every day at Disney is filled with enchantment, some periods tend to be a bit quieter, making it easier to explore the magic! Generally, you might find fewer Guests exploring the parks from mid-September through mid-November (before Thanksgiving), and again from mid-January through mid-March. From my own adventures, I've found that weekdays often see fewer Guests than weekends. Just keep in mind that during major school breaks like summer, spring, or winter holidays, the parks tend to be bustling with families, so those weekday patterns can sometimes shift.
As you plan for your journey to the magic, I'm thrilled you're also thinking about how to best ensure a smooth and joyful visit, especially when navigating the parks with your daughter's wheelchair. The Disneyland Resort is dedicated to making the magic accessible for all Guests, and they have wonderful
resources for Guests who experience mobility difficulties. To help you plan your journey through attractions, there are two very handy lists available on the website: one for
attractions where your daughter can remain in her wheelchair, and another for those where she would need to
transfer from her wheelchair to the attraction vehicle.
To keep your visit comfortable from the moment you arrive, rest assured that
designated parking is also available for Guests with disabilities. Just follow the directional signage or ask a friendly Cast Member at the parking area entrances for guidance. If you need extra room for a wheelchair ramp or lift, be sure to let them know, and they'll happily guide you. Once parked, both the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures offer accessible tram and shuttle service to the Main Entrance Esplanade. Guests using the Toy Story Parking Area will find buses ready to comfortably accommodate most mobility devices for the journey to the entrance.
And last but not least, Karen—here's an extra pro tip: To ensure you have the best possible views of the
dazzling parades and
spectacular nighttime shows, be sure to ask a friendly Cast Member about any available accessible viewing areas. These special spots are reserved to help Guests using mobility devices get a clear line of sight to all the enchanting entertainment. Arriving a bit early and checking in with a Cast Member may help you secure a wonderful spot to enjoy the magic as it unfolds without the challenge of navigating dense crowds!
I hope these tips help you sprinkle even more magic on your upcoming visit, Karen! With a little planning, I'm confident your daughter's Disneyland adventure will be filled with comfort, joy, and unforgettable moments. Please don't hesitate to send any more questions our way as you continue to plan!
