The cabins at fort wildnerness seem great for a larger family... but what is traveling to and from wilderness lodge like? Is it walkable distance? Do you need a golf cart?

    Hi Amanda!

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are a fabulous place for families to stay during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. There's nothing like having all of the modern conveniences at your disposal in the middle of the great outdoors.

As Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is my home Disney Vacation Club resort, I am very familiar with the hiking trail that connects Disney's Wilderness Lodge and The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. It's a lovely, approximately 1.5 mile trail that can be easily walked or biked during daylight hours. (Guests are not permitted to take rented golf carts beyond the boundaries of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.)

While the trail between these two resorts is delightful, I also enjoy the boat that transports Guests back and forth between Disney's Wilderness Lodge and The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. It is a relaxing ride across Bay Lake that affords you jaw-dropping views of Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

Have a rootin' tootin' good time during your stay at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort!
