Hi Danielle!
Thanks so much for sailing back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more fantastic questions! My son navigates his way around the cruise ships and
Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, via a wheelchair, so I completely understand the importance of knowing whether a place is mobility-friendly or not.
You will find one private cabana that is accessible/mobility-friendly on Castaway Cay's Family Beach: cabana #1! We enjoyed this cabana during our most recent visit to Castaway Cay! The accessible cabana has a ramp leading up to the entrance, as well as a ramp out the back leading to the sand beach. The remaining private cabanas (including the four on Serenity Bay) will each have a few steps leading into the cabana and out towards the beach.
I'm so happy to share that the island is extremely accessible! We found it to be very easy to roll my son around and loved using the trams, too; they are wheelchair accessible. Since I know you'll be staying in a Concierge-level stateroom from one of your previous questions, be sure to ask a member of your onboard Concierge Team if you can get private transportation back to the cruise ship from your private cabana at the end of your stay on the island. There's no guarantee, but they may be able to coordinate a golf cart to pick you up at your cabana and take you straight to the ship, avoiding the tram transportation! It's always worth a try!
I'm wishing you a magical voyage to paradise!
Beth
