Disney Castaway Cay. Suzanne, I'm happy to share that both adult-exclusive AND family-friendly cabana options are available on the island to help make your day practically perfect in every way!
The Sandcastle Cabanas are family cabanas located closest to Family Beach and just a short walk from shopping, recreation, and dining. Additionally, Mickey & Minnie Cove Cabanas recently opened in December 2025 and are family cabanas located across the island near the adults-only beach, Serenity Bay. Families who reserve Mickey & Minnie Cove Cabanas can use the tram to travel back and forth between Family Beach and their private cabanas if they would like to access snorkeling, bike rentals, or other activities located on that part of the island. However, you don't need to travel for lunch as you'll find nearby dining at Hangar 98 BBQ available for Guests of Mickey and Minnie Cove Cabanas.
Regardless of which option you choose, you'll enjoy many amenities in your cabana, including comfortable seating, sunscreen, towels, fresh fruit and snacks, and a mini-fridge stocked with water and soda. Your cabana reservation also includes floats and/or inner tubes, snorkel gear rentals, and bike rentals to use during your day in paradise!
Cabana reservations are in high demand, so you'll want to
confirm when your booking window opens and be prepared to make your reservation as soon as possible. Onboard Activities and Port Adventures can be reserved in your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App or on the Disney Cruise Line website under "
My Reservations." If you are unable to secure a cabana when your booking window opens, keep checking back as other Guests may change plans and cancel their cabanas closer to your sailing. You can also talk with the Port Adventures Desk once you board to check any last-minute availability.
While a cabana reservation is a wonderful way to enhance your visit to Castaway Cay, please know that there are plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, and enjoyment on the island if you are unable to reserve a cabana. On our recent cruise on the
Disney Dream in January, my family spent the day on Family Beach right next to Pelican Plunge. My boys really loved being close to the water slides and the designated snorkeling area!
