Hello, Sarah! Welcome to planDisney and to
Walt Disney World Resort! It appears that time is of the essence with your question, so let's dive right in!
A passing shower or thunderstorm is not unusual in central Florida this time of year. In fact, it's expected, particularly in the summer months. They seem to pop up out of nowhere almost daily and often disappear just as quickly.
In the case of rain,
Disney Water Parks operate as usual. I find that the crowds tend to clear and lines lessen, so our family sticks around and waits for the rain to pass. In the event of a thunderstorm, attractions will be closed temporarily until the weather threat has passed. Cast Members will keep guests informed. If the weather is not expected to improve, occasionally the decision is made to close the park. In this situation, "rain checks" are sometimes issued for future use. I encourage you to make the most of your day at
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon while you can, and if the weather does have a major impact, speak with a Cast Member at Guest Services about your options.
I hope sunny skies are ahead for you, Sarah, and that you have a surprisingly magical day! If there's anything else we can help with here at
planDisney, please come back and see us!
Always Dreaming -
