Magic Key annual passes that I hope will make your day.
The
Imagine Key is set to be on sale again for a limited time starting Tuesday, January 13, 2026. This pass is only available to Southern California Residents living in ZIP codes 90000 to 93599, and allows you to hold two theme park reservations at a time.
If you're wondering whether you can apply the
California Resident 3-Day Park Hopper Ticket towards the purchase of your new pass, the answer is yes, as long as it hasn't been fully used yet. This ticket is currently available for sale and can be used starting January 1, 2026, subject to reservation availability. You will want to
upgrade by midnight on or before the last valid day you use the ticket. The price you paid will be applied towards the Magic Key pass – just note that the pass will be backdated to the first day you used the ticket. If you haven't used your ticket at all yet, you can upgrade it on-site at a ticket booth.
Also on January 13, 2026, the
Explore Key will make its debut and go on sale. This will replace the Enchant Key and comes with some great benefits that you may want to consider, such as the ability to visit on select dates during the summer! I'd encourage you to look at the
Park Reservation Availability Calendar to see blockout dates for each pass and determine the best fit for you.
My family and I love being Magic Key holders. I appreciate that the Magic Key allows us to visit frequently for shorter periods. It's also fun being at the parks while knowing another trip is on the horizon. Remember that there are special extras and experiences just for Magic Key holders, too, which you can check out in the Magic Key portal
on the app or
on the website.
This is a fantastic time to be a Magic Key holder, Estella, because there are so many
great events scheduled for 2026, including the continued 70th Anniversary Celebration, Lunar New Year festivities, the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, and more. Starting in late March,
Bluey and Bingo will also make their way to the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland for music, games, and more. As a mom of two young kids, I am beyond excited for this!
Another fun event to look forward to, if you are a hockey fan, is
Anaheim Ducks Day in California Adventure on February 22. I went to this event earlier this year and loved watching the cavalcade with players and my favorite ducks, such as Donald, Daisy, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. I hope they do something similar again.
