CA is allowing non-residents into theme parks. When will non-CA residents be allowed into Disneyland parks? I am a DVC member & have points that will expired Sept 1st, if not used. Not able to go anywhere would need to fly. Please help.

    Howdy Yvonne!

Welcome to planDisney, a group of the rootinest tootinest Disney vacation enthusiasts you ever will meet! I’m so glad you decided to stop by with your question about using your Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points for a visit to Disneyland Resort, and I will do my best to round up some answers for you. The closure of Disneyland Resort left us feeling like lost toys, but with the phased reopening process of Disneyland, we are all ready to blast off to infinity and beyond!

Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park have reopened with significantly limited capacity to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing. All Guests will be required to obtain a theme park reservation through the new theme park reservation system in advance. At this time, only California residents may visit the parks, and proof of residency may be required.

There is not any information currently available regarding when the theme parks will be open to out-of-state visitors. I highly recommend keeping an eye on the Disneyland Resort Updates page and the Disney Parks Blog to see when the theme parks open to out-of-state visitors.

You may want to consider exchanging your Vacation Points with RCI if you cannot use them before they expire in September. Disney Vacation Club Members can deposit a minimum of 10 Vacation Points per deposit transaction and use your points with RCI at a later date. Please note that all exchanges with RCI are final. If you would like to discuss your options for exchanging your Vacation Points with RCI, contact Member Services at (800) 800-9800.

I hope this information helps you to make the most of your Disney Vacation Club Membership and that you can use your Vacation Points before they expire this September. You’ve got a friend in us here at planDisney, so stop back by any time we can help answer your vacation questions.
