After buying tix, do I also need to make a reservation? Do you have suggestions for "plan of attack"? When we went to DL in CA, we spent a day riding and the other with experiences and autographs, but I know that park is smaller. Would this work?

    Hiya Lauren, welcome to planDisney!

I’m so glad you’ve answered magic’s call to The Most Magical Place on Earth during The World’s Most Magical Celebration. Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary celebration introduced two new nighttime spectaculars: Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom park and Harmonious at EPCOT. These shows fill the skies with light and your heart with the belief that you are the magic.

Valid admission, theme park reservations, and a method of entry (MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) are currently required for park entry. Once your tickets are linked in your My Disney Experience account, check the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar and book a theme park reservation for each person per day using the Disney Park Pass reservation system. Theme park reservations have been filling up approximately one month in advance, so I recommend making your June reservations as soon as you are able.

When it comes to strategizing your park days, I recommend utilizing the My Disney Experience mobile app’s complimentary Genie service to prioritize your must-dos. As soon as you have your theme park reservations, you can do this in advance using the My Day tab of your My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen -->My Genie Day --> Get Started Now). By telling Genie about your must-do attractions, park interests, and more, Genie will make personalized, real-time suggestions on your Tip Board during your park days (three small lines --> Tip Board).

Disney Genie+ service offers the next level of park itinerary optimization by giving Guests access to Lighting Lane entrances at over 40 attractions throughout the four theme parks. Start by booking your first Lightning Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. on the dot and continue making Lightning Lane reservations throughout your park day as soon as you are able. When you’re between Lightning Lane arrival windows, I recommend letting proximity and standby wait times be your guide. I also recommend arriving at park opening, when standby lines tend to be shortest.

Having just returned from Disneyland, a personal takeaway is that you have to be more intentional about planning time for character greetings at Disney World. Several character greetings such as the princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall and Mickey at Town Square Theater in Magic Kingdom park are included on the list of Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions, as is the newly returned Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade.

There is truly more to do than can ever be done at Walt Disney World, but scroll to the bottom of this Tickets Visit Guide to get an idea of how many parks, attractions, and entertainment offerings you can expect to experience with a one-day park ticket, two-day park ticket, etc. And let's keep this conversation going. Let me know what parks you plan to attend and I'll give you a sample itinerary that includes all of the big ideas I shared with you today.

    Plan magic; planDisney.
