If I am buying tickets for one day park hopper for Disneyland resort in California and only one park is open for reservations could I still park hop if my ticket is a park hopper? Or is the other park at max capacity and I will not be able to park hop?

Hey there, hi there, Aliana! Welcome to planDisney. You've brought us an excellent question regarding theme park ticket reservations and I'd be happy to help you out.

If you purchase a Park Hopper ticket and there is only one park available for that date you can still park hop. This simply means there are only reservations for Park Hopper tickets to start at that park. You will enjoy your morning at that starting park and after 1:00 p.m., you will be able to park hop to the other park. As it has always been with Park Hopper tickets, or any tickets actually if you leave a park and go to re-enter it later or go to the opposite park, there is a chance that the park could be at capacity. However, with the reservation system in place, this hopefully is unlikely to happen. I park hop quite frequently and have never been turned away for a park being at capacity.

If for some reason you are eager to enter your second park right at 1:00 p.m., you will want to exit the park 10-15 minutes prior and look at the turnstiles on the ends. There is usually a line or two that will form for park hoppers. After 1:00 p.m., you are free to go through any open turnstile.

Since you are just a few weeks away from your arrival, be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for the Foodie Guide that showcases all the fun limited-time treats available throughout the parks to celebrate the return of nighttime spectaculars. I loved the Electric Pop!

Aliana, thanks again for dropping by planDisney! See you real soon!
