Hiya, Theresa! Welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for sharing your question with us. The winter holiday festivities are kicking off at Walt Disney World, and I’m sure you’re getting excited for your upcoming visit. Which rides will you go on first? Which shows will you see? And, probably most importantly, which snacks will you enjoy?
Park hopper tickets are a great way to experience all the Walt Disney World theme parks,
but they are subject to capacity limitations. If a park reaches capacity, Cast Members will not allow new guests to enter, and you’ll be notified via a push notification from the
My Disney Experience mobile app. Once enough guests have left the park, Cast Members will begin letting in new guests again.
Walt Disney World theme parks don’t reach capacity often, but it has been known to happen around the holidays, such as Christmas and New Year's. You’re less likely to encounter capacity issues in the morning, but you may want to have a backup itinerary if you plan to park hop to Magic Kingdom in the afternoon. It’s also worth noting that dining reservations or
Enchanting Extras reservations don’t guarantee theme park entrance if the park is at capacity.
If you end up needing something to do outside of the Magic Kingdom, but want to stay in the holly jolly spirit, you can enjoy the holiday displays at the surrounding Walt Disney World resort hotels. The towering Christmas tree at Wilderness Lodge, which is just a short water taxi ride away from the Magic Kingdom, is my favorite, but all of the resorts look amazing decked out in their holiday best.
I hope this information is helpful, Theresa, and that everything goes smoothly on your vacation. Pop right back if you have any other questions. Your planDisney pals are here to help!
Magical travels!
