If I am buying a Florida resident 3-day pass for myself and taking my girlfriend with me who is not a Florida resident can I put her under my Florida residency?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Coleman. Thanks for dropping by with your question.

It is exciting to know that you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation with your girlfriend. It truly is the most magical place on earth. Florida residents do receive a great discount on tickets, Coleman. However, you do need to be a true Florida resident to receive this discount. For each ticket or Florida resident pass purchased for anyone 18 and older you'll need to show the following information:

Valid Florida driver’s license (must have a Florida address)
Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address)
    Valid Florida-based military ID

There are a few other ways to verify residency if you don't have that, Coleman, but those are the 3 easiest options. You can verify your residency in one of two ways. You can stop by any Guest Relations window at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks or Disney Springs before you use those tickets to enter. A Cast Member will be able to assist you with this on the day of if you would like. Or, to save a little bit of time, you can now verify your residency online when purchasing your tickets. You'll simply fill out the “Your Florida Resident Information” at checkout. If you've already purchased your tickets and missed this step, you'll also be able to find a “Customize Your Tickets” step in your MyDisneyExperience app.

For your girlfriend, since she isn't a Florida resident, you'll then need to visit the Walt Disney World website and purchase her a standard theme park ticket or a park hopper ticket depending on your plans. Once you've gotten tickets for both of you, don't forget that you'll need to then go ahead and make park pass reservations to visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

I hope this helps, Coleman. If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help!

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
