Hi Carolyn,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! On behalf of my own military family and my fellow panelists, I’d like to say thank you to your whole family for your service to our country. Whether it’s you that’s serving, or you are providing support to a service member, your service and sacrifice are appreciated, and I’m so happy to hear you’re planning some together time at the Walt Disney World Resort.
As you know, Military Promotional Theme Park Tickets can be purchased on base. When you purchase the tickets, you’ll receive exchange certificates, which must be activated at a Walt Disney World Resort Guest Relations window and exchanged for your actual theme park tickets. In order to activate the tickets, the service member or their spouse must present a valid and active military ID.
Once the tickets are activated and linked to each Guest’s profile, you are free to enter the theme parks with or without the service member. I visited Walt Disney World with my kiddos last year and my husband wasn’t able to join us until later in the week. My children had no problem entering the theme parks without him during those couple of days.
Carolyn, I encourage you to take a look at the
terms, conditions, and details on the 2019 Military Promotional Tickets, just so you’re familiar with how they work. One of the terms of use is that one of the tickets purchased must be used by the eligible service member or their spouse; in other words, these tickets are intended to be used by military families traveling together. If you’re planning to travel in 2020, please note that the 2020 military
special offer has not yet been released; typically, we see the military ticket and
room discounts released in early fall for the next year, though the discounts are never guaranteed.
I hope you and your family have so much fun during your visit to Walt Disney World!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
