Hi Kerri! Thank you so much for bringing your question to
planDisney. I love that you're already thinking ahead about whether you might want a little extra time in the parks. That's such a common feeling once the excitement of a Disney trip starts to set in! The wonderful thing about
Walt Disney World tickets is that you do have some flexibility, but there are a few important details to keep in mind.
If you decide you'd like to visit the parks on December 7 in addition to your already-planned day on December 8, you can absolutely add an extra day to your existing
Park Hopper ticket. However, this would not be considered a discount or an upgrade in the sense of paying less for the additional day. Instead, you would simply pay the price difference between a 1-Day Park Hopper ticket and a 2-Day Park Hopper ticket for those specific dates. Ticket pricing at Walt Disney World varies by day and demand, so the exact amount will depend on your chosen dates, but you'll see the adjusted total when you make the change.
To add the extra day, you'll want to visit a ticketing window or a
Guest Relations location at any of the four theme parks or at Disney Springs. It's important to make this change before you tap into the park with your original 1-day ticket, because once the ticket has been used, modification options become more limited. A friendly Cast Member will pull up your ticket, apply the upgrade, and get everything linked in your My Disney Experience account.
Kerri, you won't receive a special discount for adding that additional day, but it's absolutely possible and often worth it if it means giving yourself a more relaxed, magical weekend. Whether you spend that extra day strolling through EPCOT's World Showcase, catching a fireworks show, or hopping between favorites like Space Mountain and Expedition Everest, I hope your visit is filled with joy from start to finish.
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
