Hey there, Charmaine, and welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you are planning such a fun trip, and I always love visiting the Disneyland Resort with a large group - though I definitely understand that it adds a bit more complexity for your planning.
With your
Park Hopper ticket, you will make a
theme park reservation for your starting park - if you purchased your tickets from Disneyland.com then you should have already made this reservation as part of the purchase process. This park reservation will be where you'll get started for the day, and beginning at 11:00 AM, you'll be able to switch between parks for the rest of the day. For example, if you make your theme park reservation for Disneyland Park, then that is where you'll start in the morning. Then at 11:00 AM, you can hop over to Disney California Adventure Park for a quick lunch and are free to switch back and forth between parks as you'd like for the rest of the day.
I'm glad to hear you also purchased
Disney Genie+ service as well! One of my favorite ways to make sure I get an action-packed day at the parks is to utilize the Genie+ service with Park Hopper tickets. You can begin using the Genie+ service to book your Lightning Lane entrance return times as soon as you scan your tickets to enter your first park for the day. Then at 11:00 AM, you can make those Lightning Lane selections between both parks! You'll do all of this through the
Disneyland mobile app, and you're able to book
Lightning Lane return times, one at a time, for both parks regardless of the park you're currently in.
As for the second part of your question, if you're talking about
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland Park, the good news is that you don't need a separate ticket to enter this amazingly immersive land! There are a few different ways to access this area of the park, but it is open to all Disneyland Park Guests.
There are two attractions in Galaxy's Edge -
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Both are absolutely amazing, but from my experience, Rise of the Resistance typically has a longer wait. However, one option I've utilized is purchasing
Individual Lightning Lanes - this is an "a-la-carte" purchase reserved for the three most popular attractions at the Disneyland Resort and is separate from your Genie+ service. If you absolutely want to make sure you experience this attraction (which I highly advise - it's one of my favorites) then this is the best way to access a shorter wait.
These were some great questions, Charmaine! It sounds like you and your group are going to have such a fun (and packed!) day in the parks, and the good news is you only have to wait a couple more days! Make sure to come back and see us here at planDisney if you think of any other follow-up questions as you continue to plan your trip. We'd love to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
