Hiya Rebecca,
Welcome back to planDisney! We are honored to help you continue planning magical vacations to Walt Disney World Resort. Before I begin, I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your husband for your service. I am the daughter of two veterans, so I know how big a sacrifice that is, and I appreciate it beyond words.
Now let’s chat about the
Disney Celebrates Military Salute ticket. My parents actually purchased this ticket for my toddler and themselves this year, so I was incredibly fortunate to chat with Cast Members and representatives at Shades of Green about the ticket in more detail. As you know, Rebecca, to activate the Disney Celebrates America Military Salute tickets, your husband must show his military ID and scan in to the theme park on the first day of use. The Cast Member I spoke to said it would be easiest for you all to start at the same theme park, so he can scan and activate everyone at once before
hopping to another theme park. Once your tickets are activated, however, you are free to use the tickets as you would like and park hop to the park of your choice. On the note of random id checks, while Walt Disney World Resort does reserve the right to ask for identification, when I spoke to a Cast Member, they confirmed that, currently, Eligible Service Members or their spouses must only show military identification during activation of the theme park tickets and not each time the tickets are used.
I hope this was helpful, Rebecca. Before I let you go, don’t forget that with the Disney Celebrates Military Salute tickets, you will need to have
theme park reservations. Once you purchase the tickets, be sure to make those as soon as possible. In my experience, the summer can be a little busier due to summer vacation, so if you have a preference for your first theme park, be sure to make that park reservation. If you need anything else, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
