    We are buying annual passes this year. Does the pass become active the day I purchase them online, or the day we actually go to Disney? I want to buy our tickets now but will not be actually going to Disney until Jan. 27th, I want everyday we can to use it

    It's a great year to be a Walt Disney World annual passholder, and I'm so glad you've decided to join the Florida Resident passholder family! You certainly can go ahead and buy your passes online now. Your passholder year will not begin until you show your proof of Florida residency at a Walt Disney World ticket window or Guest Relations location and you use your pass for the first time.

    As I answer this, you are near the January 3 deadline to get 13 months instead of 12, so please hurry to take advantage of that fantastic benefit. As a continuing part of the Walt Disney World 45th anniversary celebration, you also will get some special discounts and benefits this year, through September 30, 2017. That includes a 20 percent discount on 45 restaurants in the theme parks and resorts and a 20 percent merchandise discount at Walt Disney World store owned and operated by Disney.
