Hey Howdy Hey, Leslie, and welcome back to planDisney!
Some of my favorite memories of my father are of him at Walt Disney World Resort. Whether he was laughing on Space Mountain or geeking out at a Star Wars Weekend, he adored embracing his inner child at Walt Disney World Resort, so this sounds like a practically perfect Father's Day surprise for your husband!
Happily,
Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passes remain valid for
one year after first use, not the date of purchase. This means that if you were to purchase the Pass in June but did not use it until August, the one-year countdown would not begin until then. If you plan to purchase the Pass online, your husband will need to activate the Pass before use at either a theme park ticket window or the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs before he enters a theme park.
Please keep in mind that to access any of the
perks available to Florida residents (such as select Annual Passes or the monthly payment program), you'll need to provide
proof of Florida residency at the time of purchase. Additionally, any
perks or discounts associated with Passholder status (such as the current V.I.Passholder Days) are not able to be redeemed until a Pass is active even if it has already been purchased.
I hope this was helpful, Leslie, and that your husband feels so celebrated this Father's Day. If you have any additional questions I'm always happy to help a fellow Passholder, so feel free to
stop back by!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
