One of my favorite
reassurances regarding my Disney cruise vacation is the Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan. It almost feels like Captain Mickey is giving me a big old hug and saying, “Don’t worry, Rana. I got you!” There’s so much to love about it, and I would be happy to answer your question by explaining why and how long you can purchase it for.
The
Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan has you covered from a variety of vacation emergencies and scenarios, both before and during your cruise. Some of these emergencies include trip cancellation and trip interruption, trip delays, accident/sickness medical, emergency medical evacuation, baggage loss, and baggage delay. Please note that coverage offerings are always subject to change.
Plus, the best part, in my opinion, is the Cancel For Any Reason feature: you’re able to cancel your cruise for ANY reason, even one that’s not covered or listed above, and receive a future cruise credit of 75% back. THIS is what makes the Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan so unique, and why it’s the only one I personally choose. I have yet to find any other alternative that offers this unique coverage option, and therefore, it’s truly the only vacation protection plan I recommend.
As far as the date that you have to purchase it, that would be up until the final payment date, or the date you can no longer receive a refund for any reservation charges, such as for Concierge deposits or air cancellation fees for Restricted Fares. I advise you to purchase it once you reserve your cruise, because if you forget to purchase it before making that final cruise payment, you won’t be able to purchase it anymore.
You can add the Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan to your reservation easily by
contacting Disney Cruise Line. If you reserved your Disney cruise with a travel agent, you will have to let them know to add it to your reservation.
