Hey there, Tom! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited about your upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort. It sounds like you're long overdue for a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, if I do say so myself—and oh, how much has changed for the better since your last visit!
You asked an excellent question about how your tickets will be delivered once you've purchased them, and this is perhaps the most convenient part of all! You won't be waiting for tickets in the mail or picking them up at the park. Instead, if you purchase your tickets through the Disneyland website, you'll receive a confirmation via email, which will walk you through how to access your tickets digitally in your My Disney account. Even better, you can also find your tickets in the handy-dandy
Disneyland mobile app by tapping the menu (☰) button at the bottom, followed by "My Tickets & Passes". If you're opening them through a link in your confirmation email, you should also have the option to print them out and bring them with you. However, I personally prefer the mobile app option because then I won't lose or forget them—my phone is always with me!
Now, you also mentioned that the reservation system wasn't there when you last visited, so I'd like to share some tips on how it works:
When you purchase tickets directly on the Disneyland Resort's website, you'll make your theme park reservations during the checkout process. You'll start by selecting your desired ticket—whether it's a multi-day adventure or just one magical day. Then, you'll choose the number of tickets and the ticket type (either a One Park Per Day ticket or a
Park Hopper ticket). After that, you'll simply choose the date(s) you'd like to visit, as well as which park you'd like to enjoy. Then, once you checkout, your reservation will be booked—just like magic!
And here’s a little secret, Tom: if plans change after you make your theme park reservation, don't worry! You can adjust your reservation at any time, as long as your ticket is still valid. For example, as of the time I'm writing this, unused one-day tickets purchased today through the Disneyland website are valid through December 30, 2026! To adjust your reservation after you've purchased your tickets, simply head to the
theme park reservations page and select "Make or Modify Park Reservations". It's as flexible as Goofy's dance moves!
Now, Tom, since I mentioned the Disneyland mobile app earlier, let's talk about some of its other features that will help you have a truly magical day! I’d recommend downloading it before your visit to become familiar with its features. You can use it to check attraction wait times (no more guessing the wait time for Space Mountain!), browse interactive maps to navigate the parks with ease, and even place
mobile food and beverage orders to save time in line at many quick-service dining locations. It’s also where you can check showtimes for all the fun entertainment—especially the new
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration offerings!
I hope this helps you feel confident and excited about planning your return to the magic, Tom! The Disneyland Resort has so many new wonders waiting for you, and getting your tickets and reservations squared away is just the first step.
