Hi there Sonya,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for your question! It sounds like you're starting to plan for an upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort - how exciting! I've found purchasing tickets and hotel reservations online and then using the
My Plans hub on the Disneyland Resort website makes planning a breeze for my trips.
I'm happy to share that you can skip the ticket booth when you arrive for your visit! Currently, you just need to purchase your
theme park tickets and then make
theme park reservations for each day you plan to visit, which you can do through the My Plans hub that I linked above. Once you have your tickets and your reservations in place then you can go straight up to the entry gates when you arrive!
When you get to the entrance on the first day of your visit, a Cast Member will scan your ticket and take a picture of each person in your party that will be associated with their specific ticket. This will essentially "lock" that ticket to that person and the picture that was taken is what will be used to confirm the correct ticket is being used each time you re-enter the parks.
You do not need to present any form of identification when visiting the Disneyland Resort with one very specific exception. Currently, there is a
special offer through June 2, 2024, available for residents living in Southern California (ZIP codes 90000-93599). For those using these discounted tickets, they do need to present proof of eligible residency with a valid government-issued photo ID.
However, if you're just using standard theme park tickets then there is no ID necessary.
Thank you again for your question, Sonya! As you continue to plan your trip, feel free to stop back here at planDisney if you think of any follow-up questions. We'd love to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
