I want to buy tickets for my niece and her family. Can I do that and send the tickets to them electronically?

Hiya Nan - welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for stopping by with your question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical, Walt Disney World Resort vacations!

What a great idea, Nan - your niece and her family will love your gift! I see that you're writing to us from Florida, so you may be eligible to purchase Theme Park Tickets at a special rate Mickey reserves only for Florida Residents. If your niece and her family are also Florida Residents, they would also be able to use these special tickets. If they are not Florida Residents, they will not be able to use these special tickets, even if you purchase them. I'll also say that each adult Guest's status as a Florida Resident must be verified before they can use one of these tickets, and in my experience, it's been easier for the Guest using the ticket to do that as part of a purchase. For that reason, and another I'll mention below, you might want to consider gifting them a Disney Gift Card.

To go the Gift Card route, just estimate the cost of the tickets you'd like them to have, and then purchase an electronic Disney Gift Card in that amount. Disney Gift Cards do have a maximum value of $1,000 so you might need more than one if you're gifting several days of tickets. Enter their contact information and Disney will send the electronic Disney Gift Card instantly! Another reason I recommend going this route is the fact that your niece or some members of her family might actually prefer Annual Passes. By gifting a Disney Gift Card instead of actual tickets, they will now be able to make that choice!

Another option is for you to purchase Theme Park Tickets using your My Disney Experience Account, and then having your niece's family connect with you as Family & Friends. From there, you would simply reassign the tickets you purchased to them. If you decide to go this route with any Florida Resident tickets, each adult will need to verify their residency in person at a Theme Park Guest Relations location before using their ticket.

I hope this information is helpful as you continue your planning journey. You can stop by any time with additional questions! Also, as you make your magical plans, be sure to include the newest thrill at Magic Kingdom Park – TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise!

    See ya real soon!
