Can I buy tickets for May 8 family visit if I'm out of state? Heard it opens but that its limited to CA residents.

Hi Kelly, welcome! Thanks for taking the time to stop by planDisney with your question for us.

I still can’t believe it’s been a whole year since Disneyland Resort closed due to the ongoing pandemic. I really miss visiting the Disneyland Resort theme parks and it sounds like you and your family are looking forward to visiting the "Happiest Place on Earth" as well, Kelly!

According to the State of California Blueprint for a Safer Economy, it was recently announced that large theme parks can reopen with limited capacity, effective April 1st, 2021. Per current California Department of Public Health’s travel advisory, only in-state visitors will be allowed in the theme parks for the time being.

Disneyland Resort has not yet provided a reopening date. However, I am happy to report that Disney Management recently announced its goal of having Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park reopen with limited capacity earlier than initially expected, possibly by late April. When Disney Management releases the reopening date and guidelines with enhanced health and safety measures, I bet more information will also be shared about new ticket sales and how Guests can make park reservations prior to entry into the theme parks, for California residents and hopefully out-of-state residents as well.

The best way to stay up-to-date with Disney park news and information is by visiting Disneyland.com or Disney Parks Blog. Please stop by planDisney again if you have further questions as you start planning your upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort, Kelly.

    Have a magical day,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
