Can I buy tickets now to give for Xmas for future date

    Season’s Greetings, Kathy!

Happy Holidays and welcome to planDisney! We’re delighted you’ve come to us with your question!

Tickets to the Disneyland Resort are a wonderful Christmas present! I have fond memories from childhood of the time my mother surprised me and my younger sister with a trip to Disneyland! I’m sure the recipient of your gift will enjoy receiving such a special present!

Normally, the answer to your question would be a resounding yes! Disneyland Resort tickets are valid for a future visit through the end of the stated expiration date. So, if you purchase tickets to give as a gift they do not need to be used right away! But as we all know, nothing about this year has been normal. Because the Disneyland Resort remains closed, ticket sales and Annual Passport sales are currently paused. To stay up to date on the latest announcements, including when new ticket sales have resumed, make sure to check the Disney Parks Blog on a regular basis. You’ll find all the breaking news there first!

May I suggest a Disney Gift Card as an alternate Christmas present? Not only are Disney Gift Cards accepted online at shopDisney.com, but they are also accepted at participating Disney owned-and-operated locations throughout the Disneyland Resort. This includes theme parks, hotels and the Downtown Disney District. Plus, Disney Gift Cards can be used toward the purchase of theme park tickets once the Disneyland Resort resumes ticket sales. A Disney Gift Card is the next best thing to gifting actual theme park tickets!

Good luck with the rest of your holiday shopping, Kathy! And, if you think of any more questions, please come back to see us here at planDisney!

Greetings from San Diego, CA! I'm a wife, cat mom and Disney-loving "childless millennial." I've traveled all around the world, but my favorite place to visit is "The Happiest Place on Earth!" I've been going to the Disneyland Resort for over 25 years. Each time I step through the turnstiles to enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy, I feel the magic of Walt Disney's original park. I can't wait to answer your questions and help you experience all that the Disneyland Resort has to offer! Learn More About Tiffanie
