Hi Alexis, welcome to planDisney!
Thanks a bunch for visiting us, I'm happy to help!
You can buy
theme park tickets at the gate, BUT there is a good chance that same-day
theme park reservations will not be available. When the
Disneyland Resort re-opened, a theme park reservation system was implemented, requiring Guests to have both a theme park reservation and a valid theme park ticket to enter the parks. Because of this reservation system in place, Guests typically make reservations in advance, which often results in same-day reservations being all booked.
I recommend you monitor the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar on the date you are hoping to visit the parks, and if you see availability, I would actually purchase the tickets on the Disneyland Resort website to secure your reservation! OH and one more tip, one-park per day tickets and park hopper tickets have separate reservation availability, so I would monitor both those calendars to optimize your chances of securing a reservation. My family and I actually prefer the park hopper tickets as it allows us to visit both parks on the same day, letting us truly maximize our time!
I really hope you're able to visit the parks soon! So many amazing experiences have returned, such as the traditional character meet and greets and the fantastic nighttime experiences!
If you have any other questions, please visit us again!
See ya real soon!
