Hi there, Charity! Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. Let's talk Disney, shall we?
There are lots of reasons you might want to
buy a ticket to one of the Theme Parks at Walt Disney World on the day you plan to visit. Maybe you have an additional Guest joining you, or you just decided on an impromptu trip (those are the best kind!). The short answer to your question is yes, you can buy Theme Park tickets the same day you plan to use them. As the
phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort continues, however, there are some new procedures that have changed our visits a bit.
To help manage capacity in the Theme Parks, Disney now requires us to make a Disney Park Pass reservation in advance for the Park we plan to visit on a given day. Once you've bought your tickets and linked them to your
My Disney Experience account, you go to the
Disney Park Pass page on the Walt Disney World website, choose the date and Theme Park, and confirm your selection. It's easy, and can even be done on the day you're planning to visit, as long as there's availability in that Park. That could be the tricky part. Since you listed April 6 as your arrival date, I took a quick look at the
Availability Calendar, and the only Park with reservations available that day is
EPCOT. You may be able to get a reservation there on the same day, but I'd keep an eye on that calendar just to be sure before you buy your ticket.
If you are able to get a reservation for EPCOT that day but wanted to go to a different Park, it's possible you could still do that by adding the
Park Hopper Option to your ticket. With the Park Hopper Option, you'll go to EPCOT first, then you'd be able to hop to a different Park after 2 p.m.! My friend Tabitha has
the lowdown on how Park hopping works right now, so you can see if it's the way to make your plans come together.
I hope this helps you plan your Disney day, Charity. Please come back and see us again if you have any more questions!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
