I want to buy a ticket for my niece who is 8, but it’s saying I have to purchase an adult ticket, as well. How do I just buy a child ticket?

    Hi there, Natalie!

I’m delighted you stopped by planDisney with your question for us. You must be winning Aunt of the Year award for being so kind! Giving the gift of magic to your niece sounds fantastical and magical, and I’m happy to help you make her wish come true!

Natalie, it should allow you to purchase her theme park ticket even if you aren't purchasing an adult ticket. Perhaps try a different browser, and let’s go over the steps together.

-You’ll first want to visit the Theme Park Tickets page by clicking here
-Next, scroll down until you see Standard Theme Park Ticket; it should be the last option, and select Continue
-Then, select the number of days you need for your niece to go to the parks.
-Choose the start date of the ticket from the calendar option (make sure you have the correct year pulled up; I make this mistake sometimes).
-Next, you’ll choose if she will visit 1 Park Per Day or add the Park Hopper Option, etc.
-Now, you’ll want to select the Number of Tickets, and you will want to choose 1 under the Ages 3-9 option.
-Once you’ve seen the current selection and it looks good, please choose Continue
-You’ll get an option to customize your ticket by adding the Memory Maker. This is optional, and you can select Continue
-Now you’ll view your cart, and if you should see your park ticket for Ages 3-9 there. If it looks good, please select Check Out to pay and finalize the transaction.

If, for any reason, it’s still not allowing you to do so, please feel free to call New Tickets a call, and a friendly Cast Member will be happy to help you purchase your niece’s ticket!

Please do keep in mind that children under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest 14 or older to enter the theme parks. My little guys are around your niece’s age and LOVE experiencing all the attractions. If she’s into attractions like mine, you may want to consider Disney Genie+ so she can experience as many attractions as possible without too much wait time on select attractions.

And do remember, your My Disney Experience Mobile App is quite a helpful tool during your vacation. On the app, if you click on the pin icon at the bottom of your screen, you can check wait times, find where your favorite characters meet, discover dining locations, restrooms, entertainment, and so much more!

I’m wishing your niece an enchanting visit, Natalie!
