    If I buy a ticket for a family member and he ends up not going, will the ticket expire at some point (even if I don't spring for the no-expiration option?) The 14 days after 1st use expiry doesn't seem to apply here.

    Arthur you are correct. I spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that as long as a ticket has never been used you may keep the ticket to use whenever you choose. The 14 day expiration window does not begin until a guest uses a ticket to enter a park.
