If I buy an out of state annual pass now in Feb 2020, but will not use it til Aug 2020, Will the pass expire Feb 2021 or the date I go Aug 2021?

    Hi Ashley,

Thanks for dropping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so happy to hear that you are considering joining the Walt Disney World annual passholder family.

We've been passholders for more than 20 years and love all the benefits and discounts that come with an annual pass. I think you will be pleased to know that your passholder year does not begin until you use the pass for the first time to enter one of the four Walt Disney World theme parks. So if you buy your pass today, for example, but wait until August 7, 2020, to activate it, it will remain valid until August 7, 2021.

Buying a pass in advance is a good way to spread the expense of your vacation. And, because prices are subject to change without notice, it can be a way to avoid potential cost increases.

As you plan your visit, make sure you take advantage of any available passholder discounts on resorts and special event reservations. When you are at Walt Disney World, show your passholder card for savings on dining and merchandise. And watch for any special passholder bonuses, such as the free passholder magnets that are frequently dispensed at Epcot.

Please let us know if we can help in any way as you plan your August vacation and your year of Disney fun, Ashley. Enjoy!
