Hello Valerie! Welcome to planDisney with a great question.
One of the reasons I love to visit the Walt Disney World Resort is souvenir shopping. When I am nearing the end of a vacation, I begin to panic because I am not sure if my luggage will make weight for my return trip home.
Valerie, I am pleased to share how you will be able to get all of your magical souvenirs home to enjoy. If you feel that you have bought too many items to fit in your luggage without damaging them or causing your bag to be over your airline’s weight limit, remember this. Your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel gift shop or retail location can ship your items to your residence for a small fee.
You will need to save all of your receipts from your purchases made during your stay in the Walt Disney World Resort. Shipping is based on the cost of the item you are preparing to ship, not its weight. During my most recent visit in October, I was able to ship a lot of items to my home for the maximum fee of $40. I chose to ship my heaviest items and those that seemed to take up the most room in my suitcase. The Cast Member at The Artists’ Palette located at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, asked me for my merchandise receipt. She carefully wrapped and packaged my items while I completed a shipping request form. My items arrived safe and sound about 2 weeks later.
You can also have larger items shipped at the time of purchase from all Disney Resorts Collection hotels,
Disney Springs, and Disney Theme Parks
retail locations. If you have your eye on the 50th Anniversary Castle or Star Wars LEGO set, let the Cast Member know at the time of purchase that you are shipping something to your home and they will complete the process with your transaction. The only shops that have exceptions to this rule are all shops in the Japan and China Pavillions at EPCOT. If you want to send something home that you have purchased in either of their retail locations, the Cast Members in those shops must do it for you.
Now you can shop with confidence when you arrive in a few days.
See ya real soon,
Andrea
