I’m so glad you’re here with this great question. I see that you’re considering gifting your sister and niece the most magical gift: Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passes. What a thoughtful gift! They’ll certainly be thinking of you as they create wonderful memories all year long.
As a Florida resident, you can absolutely purchase this type of annual pass for them. You’ll just need to be sure to follow a few simple steps to ensure a smooth transaction:
- Be sure to add your sister and niece to your Family & Friends list in the My Disney Experience app. To do this, head to the app, log in and tap on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner (☰), scroll down to the Account section and tap Profile, then Family & Friends List. If your sister and niece are not already there you can add them, but this step may ruin the surprise if they don’t know about your amazing gift as you might need their linking codes from your sister’s My Disney Experience app to do so.
- While logged into the app, tap My Tickets and Passes, then Buy Annual Passes. Florida resident purchasing options should be available to you for purchase as a resident. You can also purchase these passes on the Walt Disney World Website.
- Once the passes are purchased, head back to the Tickets and Passes page in the My Disney Experience app and tap Link Tickets & Passes. You can use the ticket ID numbers to link them. You’ll then have the opportunity to match the passes to your sister and niece.
To activate their passes, your sister will need to visit Guest Relations at any Disney World park or at Disney Springs. She will need to have a valid form of photo identification that shows
proof of residency. Florida residents under age 18 are not required to show proof of residency so long as the adult purchasing or activating their pass has done so.
Once these steps are complete, your sister and niece should be able to enjoy their new passes! Now, Shane I do want to also mention that you also have the option of purchasing a Disney gift card for the dollar amount of the annual passes and gifting that to your sister and niece.
