If I buy a resort mug on my next trip but want to renew it for another trip (instead of buying a whole new mug), how much would it be to renew?

    Hiya Ria,

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your refillable mug question. Can you believe you are just weeks away from swapping Garden State Turnpike views for the sparkle of Cinderella's Castle? As someone who was born and raised in New Jersey, I can tell you that is one magical trade. Talk about upgrading your commute.

Let’s jump right into your question. If you are thinking about purchasing a refillable mug, you must be staying at a Disney Resort, which already puts you ahead of the planning game. Refillable mugs are one of my favorite on-property perks. They are valid for the length of your stay, up to 14 days. Each mug has an RFID chip on the bottom, and once your stay ends, the chip is no longer active for refills. Therefore, you will not be able to reuse it for a second trip.

Although this may not be the answer you were looking for. The good news is the magic does not stop there. You can absolutely take the mug home and keep using it. My family does this all the time, and every sip feels like a little Disney memory. Plus, each visit usually brings a new mug design, so it is a fun excuse to grab a new one next time you are back.

While you are staying at a Disney Resort, be sure to take advantage of the other perks, too. Early Entry lets you head into the parks 30 minutes before official opening, which is a great way to knock out a few must-do attractions before the crowds roll in. And do not forget about Disney transportation. Depending on where you are staying, you can ride the monorail, boats, Skyliner, or buses. Getting to the parks can feel like an attraction in itself.

Ria, I hope this helps answer your question and gets you even more excited for your upcoming trip. If anything else pops up while you are planning, feel free to visit us again.

    See you real soon,
